Information

Even when Tainaka was small, she had great potential for singing. When she was still in primary school, she took part in a nationwide children's singing contest with her class, and in 1997 won first prize. She entered this contest again in 1999, however in that year she was part of a group with her two sisters. At 15, Tainaka decided she would become a singer after being inspired by DREAMS COME TRUE and MISIA's songs. At this time she started writing and composing songs, as well as performing live.

Tainaka would continue to enter competitions, such as in 2002 she took part in the televised ASAYAN idol show, and reached 6th place.

In early 2004, Tainaka released six songs in a Columbia Records-released concept album called Aru Ai no Uta under the name Sachi (彩智). The album was inspired by Shindou Fuyuki's Okinawa-based romance novel of the same name (which was also released in early 2004).

In 2005, Tainaka became part of a four-member unit called Les Bijoux (レ・ビジュ), who performed at Universal Studios Japan.

Tainaka then debuted in February 2006 with the single disillusion, which was used as the opening theme song to the anime Fate/stay night. This single was quite a high debut, reaching #13 on Oricon charts. Kirameku Namida wa Hoshi ni would then follow as Tainaka's second single (and the second opening theme to the same anime). This single would in fact debut at #9; Tainaka's first top 10 entry.

Three months later, Tainaka released a third single, Saikou no Kataomoi, which was used as the anime Saiunkoku Monogatari's ending theme song. However, this single would not fare so well as its predecessors and only debuted at #50 on Oricon charts. Tainaka's fourth single was released in February 2007, featuring another original love ballad and a song of hers called Kimi to no Asu which was used as the ending theme song of the last episode of Fate/stay night broadcast back in June 2006. To follow this, Tainaka's debut album Dear... was released in March. Interestingly, this only featured a medley of her two first anime singles instead of the tracks as whole songs.

In February 2007 it was announced that Tainaka would sing the ending theme song to the anime Seirei no Moribito to air in April 2007; a self-composed song called Itoshii Hito e (with famed rock band L'Arc~en~Ciel singing the opening song). According to Tainaka, the song is about love and is overflowing with a dramatic melody.

According to Tainaka's official site, she had written and composed over 60 songs in total at the time of her debut.
