Sugazaki Akane first made an impression in the music award when she won the Amuse Okinawa Actors School Grand Prix contest in 1998. Two years later, she would enter the school's MAKINO WORLD POPS Osaka school where she became a member of the group [[B.B. WAVES]] for a year. After leaving the school, Sugazaki would auditioned entered a few auditions for a label deal including winning the Grand Prix award for the [[Pure Pure|Miss Pure Pure Audition 2001]].
