: This is a common ''Japanese'' romanization, but not in Western romanization. It's because when you type つ, it's faster to type "tu" as opposed to "tsu." I've noticed when I romanize things I catch myself doing it as well. I nominate it stays. We typically go off what gets more Google hits, at least at the old Wiki. This is a common Japanese romanization, but not in Western romanization. It's because when you type つ, it's faster to type "tu" as opposed to "tsu." I've noticed when I romanize things I catch myself doing it as well. I nominate it stays. We typically go off what gets more Google hits, at least at the old Wiki.
