Name

His websites and covers say "Tatuya" instead of "Tatsuya", so shouldn't the spelling be changed accordingly? [1] [2] --Lambchopsuey 13:12, 27 April 2010 (CDT)

This is a common Japanese romanization, but not in Western romanization. It's because when you type つ, it's faster to type "tu" as opposed to "tsu." I've noticed when I romanize things I catch myself doing it as well. I nominate it stays. We typically go off what gets more Google hits, at least at the old Wiki. Tatsuya pulls up 800k more results than Tatuya. (I still say we do this for Hirakawachi, but that seems to be an old argument.) ~ Wapiko 13:46, 27 April 2010 (CDT)

Hey, when I originally made the Kitano Kii page I made it as Kii. xD I still refuse to romanize it the "official" way because it looks like I should be pronouncing it きえ. If you want to make a redirect page for Ishii Tatuya, by all means, but I don't think it should be the real page just because his promoters use a far-less used romanization of his name. But he chose to have his name spelled as Tatuya. Keeping it as it is would be like having Porno Graffitti as "Porno Graffiti", or Ashlee Simpson on Wikipedia as "Ashley Simpson". Anyone searching for "Tatsuya" would be redirected, anyway. You make a good point, but it's not like it says "Ashley Simpson" on her birth certificate (or does it?), much like (if it is his real name) it says 石井竜也 for Tatsuya, not "ISHII TATUYA." Regardless, it should remain as is. In the past we always based it on what got the most search results and last/first name order (for example), and I don't think that should change because everything is still consistent. If it has changed, I think it's a mistake. It used to be whenever I typed in an artist's name and "wiki" after it, ThePPN would be on the very first page of results, normally in the top three (along with Wikipedia and DramaWiki when applicable). Just because something is more common, doesn't mean it is right. For example, Googling "Naka nai to Kimeta Hi" gets more results than "Nakanai to Kimeta Hi", but wouldn't you agree that the latter is correct? (I blame this on DramaWiki, lol.) Yes, I don't think searching results have anything to do with it, we follow what is right. He spells himself as Tatuya Ishii on his official website so he want to be calling like that. Like our rule, I think we should move his page to Ishii Tatuya. Seph 20:07, 28 April 2010 (CDT)

I'm glad you all are discussing this because I swear I've been wanting to ask this for a while but never brought it up because I had noticed when I was making several of his album pages (which I've gotta go back and fix my tons of early mistakes.... someday XD) that the covers always said "Tatuya" and not "Tatsuya". Also I agree with you Lambchopsuey! Dramawiki really has a problem with confusing people. For example they still have the series Will it Snow for Christmas? titled as Will it Snow at Christmas? which pisses me off because clearly the promotional posters and even the website itself says "FOR" not "AT" and people are constantly using their title for other websites. I don't want to bring more confusion over this, since I also think it has to be moved to the artist chosen romanization (I'm thinking in Yazima'case and ikimono-gakari's case, I don't like them like that but I respect it), but it seems that his official Sony profile doesn't care about her decision with the name as they spell it as Tatsuya [3].--Pizca 04:25, 29 April 2010 (CDT)

I think so too, I really hate Tatuya and Yazima but I respect what he want to be called. He spells it himself as Tatuya Ishii on his official website and on his single with Takasugi Satomi. Seph 04:35, 29 April 2010 (CDT)
