Penny Rain is the second part of the fifth studio album released by Aimer. It was released simultaneously with the first part of the album, titled Sun Dance, and as part of the Sun Dance & Penny Rain compilation album.
The album includes six songs from her latest singles (both physical and digital releases): "I beg you", "Black Bird", "Sailing", "Mabayui Bakari", "Ref:rain" and "Hana no Uta", along with three new compositions and a re-arrange version of "i-mage <in/AR>". The track "i-mage <in/AR>" was released on March 18th, 2019 as a digital pre-release, the original version of the song was released in the third studio album of the composer Sawano Hiroyuki, titled "R∃/MEMBER", on March 6th, 2019.
