"Zankoku na Tenshi no Thesis" is the eleventh single released by Takahashi Yoko. The song was used as the opening theme to the Anime series Shin Seiki Evangelion. The song is often considered one of most popular anime-influenced song in both Japan and America. The single reached #27 on the Oricon charts, and is Takahashi's second best selling single. The single sold 159,750 units.
Since the single has been released many artist have covered the song. In 2001 it was covered by Ishida Yoko for the "Para Para Max" album. Okui Masami covered it on her 2003 album, "Masami Kobushi". Most recebtly the song was covered by angela at Otakon 2004.
- Translation Note: The "teeze" in the title is not the Japanese katakana word for the English "thesis". It is actually the Japanese katakana word for the German word "these" which has similar, if not the exact same meaning.
