"Variety" is Tokyo Jihen's third album. For this Tokyo Jihen album instead of Shiina Ringo composing the majority of the band's music, selections of the best work from the other members' own songs were picked to be released. The album will feature 13 songs. Out of the new songs on the album, seven were composed by Ukigumo, five by Izawa Ichiyou and one by Kameda Seiji. The first press of the album features a slipcase and special jagged packaging.
The song Kingyo no Hako was chosen as the ending theme song for the Tsutsumi Shinichi-starring film Mouryou no Hako; which is released on 2007.12.22.
Variety went on to sell a total of 164,987 copies in 2007, making it the #75 album of the year.
