Anison (アニソン) stands for anime song. An anison singer/band is a singer/band who has most of their songs used for animes or 2D games (such as RPG, visual novel or eroge game...). Their are some anison singers/bands who started their career as doujin artists before going major. Since 2005, there is a special live event called Animelo Summer Live for them to gather and perform.
