"infection" (眩暈) is a ballad by Onitsuka Chihiro, first released in 2001 as one of the A-sides on her "infection / LITTLE BEAT RIFLE" single. 4 days after the release of the single, the 9-11 attacks occurred. Since the lyrics of "infection" could be interpreted to link to the attacks (especially the lyrics "bakuha shite tobichitta kokoro no hahen (fragments of my exploded, scattered heart)"), promotion of the song ceased. Aside from this, "infection" was used as the theme song for the drama Hyouten 2001. "infection" is considered by Chihiro as the counterpart song to "Ryuuseigun".
