Sugar High is Onitsuka Chihiro's third album. It was released just nine months after her previous album, This Armor. Prior to this album, no singles had been released. A first press bonus for this album was the inclusion of a special 8cm CD containing the original version of "Castle・imitation" and it's instrumental. The first press edition also contained a Chihiro screen saver. Despite there being no singles, the album was not without its tie-ups. "Koe" was used as the ending theme song for the Asahi TV show Mutenka, "Tiger in my Love" was used as the CM song for Kenwood, "Hyouryuu no Hane" was used as the theme song for the NHK dorama series Kekkon Dorobou and "Castle・imitation" was used as the theme song for the Playstation 2 game Breath of Fire V Dragon Quarter. Sugar High reached #2 in Oricon charts and charted for 14 weeks. Sugar High sold 294,952 units, making it the #41 album for 2003.
The album takes its title from the song "Sugarhigh" by Coyote Shivers, which was featured in the 1995 movie Empire Records.
