"Memai / edge" is Onitsuka Chihiro's fourth single, and was the lead-in single before the release of Onitsuka's debut album Insomnia. "Memai" was both the TV variety show Daigaku King's ending theme song and the La Parler CM song. "edge" was the movie the theme song for Oboreru Sakana. The single came with a CD extra, which was an exclusive screensaver. This single peaked at #6 on Oricon charts and stayed in the charts for 11 weeks. Due to the singles sales of 253,000, it became the #75 single of 2001. Also due to these high sales, this single is Chihiro's second most sold single (after "Gekkou"). Interestingly, this single was released on the anniversary of her debut single, "Shine".
