Information

Ushirogumi Sasregumi was formed in 1985 with Mamiko Takai and Yukiko Iwai when Fuji TV needed singers to sing the theme songs for their anime High School! Kimengumi. Producer Akimoto Yasushi decided the name the group Ushirogumi Sasregumi after the other names he suggest failed, like Kiwigumi and Papayagumi. The group released their first single Ushiroyubi Sasaregumi on October 1985 with the A-side being the opening theme for the Fuji TV anime. A lot of the group songs featured various Onyanko Club members as background vocals.

The group disbanded when Mamiko Takai graduated from Onyanko Club on April 1987.
