Akaike Yuu was born in Kumamoto to a company family. When she was young, she wanted to be a lawyer in order to succeed her grandfather's law office, but started taking vocal lessons after her instructor in high school recommended it. She later attended to and graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts' Department of Music. She studied abroad in Vienna several times. Since 2018, she has been a lecturer at Heisei College of Music.
She participated once as a performer for the anime Meitantei Conan's twelfth movie Senritsu no Full Score.
She released two albums, one in 2011 together with the Tokyo Ensemble Guild and a second one in 2016 with Tokyo Ladies Singers.
