GOLD SUN AND SILVER MOON is the debut major label and first full-length studio album released by SHAZNA. The first press edition of the album was released on 1998.01.22. The album contains three disc, with the third having only Orgel arrangments. The album also came with a mini-photobook, which mainly contained pictures of IZAM. The album reached #2 on the weekly Oricon chart, and stayed on the chart for a total of four weeks. This version of the album has sold a total of 603,130 copies, making the #42 album of 1998.
A little more than a week later on 1998.01.31, the regular edition of the album was released. Unlike the first press the album featured all its songs on one disc. It also included the song "Das Spiel", a B-side from SHAZNA's "White Silent Night" single (which doesn't appear on the album). The album reached #3 on the weekly Oricon chart, and stayed on the chart for a total of thirteen weeks. This version of the album has sold a rounded total of 396,000 copies, making the #59 album of 1998.
A combined sales total almost brings the album to the one million mark.
