Information

Murata got her start in 1984 when she won the 3rd Annual Miss Seventeen Contest with Watanabe Misato. A year later, she made her idol singing debut with the single "Opera Glass no Naka de Dake / Moon Cafe no Jitensha" under the label CBS Sony. However, it didn't last last as she only released two singles under CBS Sony before her contract expired. In 2005, the label released the best album "Idol Miracle Bible Series Takahashi Mie Watanabe Chiaki Murata Eri Single Collection Compilation", which features unreleased songs.

In 1988, Murata re-emerge under the stage name "Hashimoto Maiko" and released the single "TARO" under the label Youmex. Two years later, she released the single "Say, Yes!", which is well-known by anime fans as the opening theme for the seventh episode of the Bubblegum Crisis OVA.

Murata made another change as she went to the label For Life Records in 1992. She released the R&B flavored single "GIRLS GO MANIAC" soon after under the name "ERINA". AS ERINA, Murata released four singles and two albums in the span of two years. In 1996, Murata participated as a back chorus member in Utsunomiya Takashi's concert tour.

Murata became part of the group "FUNNY GENE" in 1997, releasing four singles and one album. Their third single, "Love2 Power", was a smash hit. However, the group disbanded in 1999. Afterwards, Murata decided to retire for the world of show business.
