ray is L'Arc~en~Ciel's seventh album, released simultaneously with ark. It reached #2 on the Oricon charts and sold 2,129,290 copies, becoming the #7 album of 1999. It charted for 22 weeks and sold a total of 2,137,600 copies.
ray 15th Anniversary Expanded Edition is a limited edition special reissue featuring new cover art and remastered tracks. It also comes with a bonus DVD containing making of music videos, live performances, and backstage footage from their "Inazuma London Hearts" performance originally broadcast on TV. Much like the original, it was released along with ark 15th Anniversary Expanded Edition. It reached #12 on the Oricon charts and charted for seven weeks, with first weeks sales of 30,261 copies.
