Released under EMI Records, SEIKO JAZZ is the first jazz album recorded by Matsuda Seiko. It was released in three versions: a limited Type A edition which came with a bonus instrumental disc, a limited Type B edition that came with an instrumental disc, a poster, and a Super High Material CD, and a regular CD-only edition. The album saw Matsuda collaborate with the Manhattan Jazz Orchestra, whose leader Dave Matthews handled arrangements for the album. Jazz musician Shigeyuki Kawashima produced the tracks.
