During 2001 and 2002 she was signed under Universal Music Japan where released four singles and an album. However, after the album release, she was dropped by the label. Mayu took an hiatus and in 2007 made her comeback with a new style and a name, immi. Her first single, Cosmic Pink, came up in November 2007 in iTunes Japan and became a cult hit selling over 50,000 copies on iTunes. This led to another song on the single, Local Train, being used for a big Canon CM campaign in Japan, launching her career. Her second single, Klaxon, was released in March 2008. The b-side, Lovesong, is a cover of the TheCure. In August 2008, she released her first album Switch, in iTunes. immi is her own songwriter and composer, but she is produced by N.A.i.D. and JETBIKINI. On September 10th, it was released the first album under the stage-name immi,Switch. immi’s debut album seems to crib from a lot of the best electronica of the last 15 years. Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk and Goldfrapp seem to be an influence, particularly Goldfrapp in delivery on Klaxon. The song Milk & Honey is plagaristically close to Shinichi Osawa’s track "Our Song". Shinichi Osawa is also known as MONDO GROSSO and is Nobuchika Eri's ex producer. In 2009, immi released a second album called RimmiX, which features a few new songs and some remixes of songs on Switch. Recently, immi had just been picked up by DefSTAR Records (Sony Music Japan), and released her first major mini-album WONDER EP. It is sheduled a new mini-album for October entitled Alice EP.
