"You're My Only Shinin' Star" is Nakayama Miho's 12th single. The title track was used as an insert song for the TBS dorama Mama wa Idol!. The song also helped Nakayama to win the Gold Prize at the 30th Nihon Record Taishou. "You're My Only Shinin' Star" would be later covered by other artists like Kadomatsu Toshiki and Aoyama Thelma. The single was released after appearing on the album SUMMER BREEZE, which was released a year and a half before the single. It reached #1 on the weekly Oricon charts and charted for 18 weeks, selling over 293,000 copies. The single also reached #15 on the yearly Oricon chart for 1988.
