Rakutenshi

Rakutenshi (楽天使; Comfort Angel) was a Japanese pop idol group from 1989 to 1990 under the label CBS Sony Record. The catchphrase of the group was "Angels Flying Down to Earth on Christmas" (Christmas ni Tenshi ga Chijou ni Maiorita).

Information

The group formed in 1989 when CBS Sony Records was planning for a Young Pop Christmas project and chosen Kawada, Tayama, and Nakayama to be part of this project. The group released their only single, "Tenshitachi no Symphony", before the year up. They also released their only album at the start of 1990 but the group wasn't as successful as the other idol groups like Qlair, CoCo, and ribbon.

Many months later, the group's member participated in the CBS Sony Record's Christmas group, Nanatsuboshi. After that, the group disbanded and each girl pursued their own solo project.
