Getting their name from Hosono Haruomi, the group wanted their name to mean "star's rainbow" . The debuted in 1982 with the single Heart Break Taiyou Zoku as three warriors who escaped from the 10th planet Starbow to Earth to tell about love. The members were given the named Nagai, Imato, and Yaeto as their names because they were portrayed in the single as guys and dressed up and sounded like them.
