So you've probably noticed this but I have no idea what to categorize the pictures I upload. XD You seem fluent in this language, so teach me your ways =3 (Also, some of the ones in "promo images" don't look like a [[:File:Inouemao.jpg|promo image]]...XD Therefore I am confused. ~ [[User:Wapiko|Wapiko]] 09:19, 28 April 2010 (CDT)

Revision as of 14:19, 28 April 2010

Oh, sorry, I do it automatically. ^^' At first I check on page if artist released something, but maybe I just overlooked it. Which pages do you mean? --Hikari 12:48, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

No worries, it happens to me the contrary same thing, I put k-pop on everything XD. The two singers I talk about are Lee Hong Ki and Taecyeon. No mayor releases for them, but definitely in solitaire. --Pizca 19:05, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

Nobody

Hey would you consider the new Nobody Rainstone Remix (English version) released by the wonder Girls today to be a continuation of the Nobody series of singles and to be added to the Nobody page or is it a single of it's own and therefore deserving of it's own page? Krazoom 03:14, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

It should be on the same page. All the versions, remixes, etc.. of the same songs must be on the same page. I was waiting a couple days before adding it, because I'm not too sure if it's a digital or a physical release XD.--Pizca 04:16, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
Ah gotcha gotcha. According to allkpop it's both a physical and digital release but I'm not sure when the physical copy will be available.Krazoom 05:38, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
I saw it there too. I think the physical CD has something to do with Wallmart, and I don't know if it's going to be an exclusive release... Too much questions XD--Pizca 17:11, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
BTW, I'm working on Girls' Gen. pages, so thank you so much for the new pics. ^^ --Pizca 17:44, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
Oh haha YW :D Krazoom 02:46, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

IU...Im

Hey are you seeing what Teodz1984 is adding to the IU...Im page? Is that info really necessary? I ask you since you made the page XD. Krazoom 05:35, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Well, I don't see Arirang TV so, I guess if he changed it was because it wasn't correct, but I haven't seen any pages with that kind of P.S. for a title change XD--Pizca 13:22, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

I Don't Care

I'm still not too sure about the I Don't Care page because those digital singles were released after the mini-album. Those examples you gave have the single being released first, which I have come across before but not this. What do you think? Does the same rule apply even if it was released after? --Plisskin 01:03, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

That's why I put Hamasaki's single as example. Daybreak is a recut single of I Am... album, and as you see the single info goes first. Other example can be the new version of Mata ne released after AND I LOVE YOU.--Pizca 01:15, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Okay. Thanks. --Plisskin 01:19, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

Bigeast

Hey, I was just wondering why you removed Tohoshinki's Bigeast versions from "COLORS ~Melody and Harmony~ / Shelter" and "BREAK OUT!". --Lambchopsuey 17:55, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Because they have released Bigeast versions for almost all their Japanese singles, and as we don't have information for what they contain I felt unnecessary for only those two to be there (and if I remember correctly, there was only a cover and a serial code). The singles can only be bought by Bigeast members so it's not really necessary to have them listed, but anyways, I've been trying to find info of all the singles but it's seems there's not too much (or I'm blind XD). --Pizca 18:24, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Formatting of titles

Please don't neglect to put Albums and longer works like dramas and lives in italics, and songs and shorter works like singles in quotation marks. I just happened to notice the problem on the recent TVXQ pages you made. Lvng 16:58, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

I really hate italics and quotations marks, so I probably forgot them always xD, but you can go ahead and change them. BTW, as far as I know there isn't a rule about the use of italics or quotation marks for titles/releases, or is there?. --Pizca 17:05, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
There actually is a rule about it (we just don't have our style page done yet). It's pretty proper to do so, and it easily marks the difference between something like Distance (an album) and "Distance" (a song on that album), and it also helps set apart a title from a section of text, especially when the page isn't linked. I would love to change them myself, but I'm afraid it isn't my job to go and change things (I'm a regular user too) and I don't know TVXQ that well; I don't know the difference between their albums and singles and songs. Not that I'm forcing you to do it now, but sometime would be nice, just so we can have a uniform style here. We appreciate what you do here; song pages can be a pain to make for an artist with a massive discography. Lvng 17:26, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Well, if the "problem" it's to difference between songs/albums with the same title, I always put it like "xxx single" "xxx album", so no problem. As for non liked songs or albums, I always use quotation marks, it's just that I don't find it necessary when the title is linked.
And thats what I meant, the style page is not done yet, and since I made more than 100 song pages for them, I don't think I should change now because what (I) want is to keep that consistency. --Pizca 17:40, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Well it's been decided in the forums, and Themonkeyofdoom is working on the style page now. At the very least, you can start using that format on your new pages, so that the clean up isn't as heavy. The fixing can come later.
And by the way if you only use quotation marks sometimes, THAT is inconsistency.
Oh and thanks for fixing the link on Distance. I definitely hadn't realized that I didn't link to the song.Lvng 19:19, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
You welcome. When the style page is done, I would be more than happy to change them all if it's necessary. What I don't want is to do something now, that later may be not fine (or don't follow strictly the guidelines) to change it again.
I don't only use the quotation marks "sometimes". I use them when the title/artist is not linked.
Anyways, I think there are a lot of things to fix in the wiki and we are spending too much time for something that is not really important.--Pizca 19:32, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Please start using these linking formats. Even back on thePPN we used quotation marks when refering to a title. Now we are making it more proper having longer works such as albums, DVDs, films, and TV series put into Italics and shorter works such as songs, singles, and episodes put into quotations. All of the works should always be written this way, and they should always be linked (unless the same page has been linked numerous times within an article). ~ Themonkeyofdoom 04:29, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

OK, so basically "big" releases go in italics, and "smaller" releases with quotation marks? And I'm just being curious, when you say "and they should always be linked", it's because I missed linking any work? --Pizca 05:07, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
It's just because I saw you say "I don't only use the quotation marks "sometimes". I use them when the title/artist is not linked." ~ Themonkeyofdoom 06:12, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
Oh, that. I was talking about the same you posted before "(unless the same page has been linked numerous times within an article)".--Pizca 13:28, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

Debut Album

"Again, "debut" only applies to the FIRST release of an artist"

If that's the case then why do all of these pages from these artists say "debut album" instead of "first full length album" like you wrote. Some of them even have the "Debut Album" tag that you supposedly said should only be used for first releases: LOVE PUNCH, TRUE, LISTEN TO MY HEART, KAELA, my name is AI, Beni, Baby Girl, SWEET 19 BLUES, MARS, etc. --Plisskin 19:17, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

In that case those should also be reworded. I remember this back in ThePPN, when people (including me) started to put "debut" to all the first releases of an artists (debut album, debut mini-album, debut single...) and all those were removed, because we realized that that word can only describe one moment (or more if we talk about re-debuts when an artist changes labels).
And BTW, I saw you talked about this into Themonkeyofdoom's page, but remember that I'm a sysop too--Pizca 23:17, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I've noticed. Anyway, I will wait for Themonkeyofdoom to respond since I think this makes absolutely no sense, especially when everyone is doing the debut tag (Recently too. I've seen whats been going on in "Recent Changes") but only I get called out on it. No mod as ever told me not to add the debut tag, in fact when I first started here a mod added the debut tag on a page I was working on since I didn't know about it. And when a mod has edited a debut album page I was working on, they never deleted the tag and told me that was wrong. --Plisskin
In that case I would be wrong and I apologize. But I still think it makes perfect sense. And please, don't start again with the "only I get called...", because it's not true. You can take a look to my contributions page and see if the few changes I did on your edits are the only ones I've done. --Pizca 23:53, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
Well you did call me out, amongst other users doing the same thing I did, for the "Debut Album" tag so yes, it is true. Obviously you have done other edits since your a sysop and all, but I wasn't generally speaking about your contributions I was talking about this specific situation. --Plisskin 00:16, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
I called only you, because I have only seen you doing it. I said that because it's not the first time you point this, please be sure I'm not waiting for you to change your edits. Seriously.--Pizca 00:25, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Are you serious? After I gave examples above showing you other people have been doing it and your going to say that? Dude, whatever. --Plisskin 00:36, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Oh, God, Plisskin, when are those changes made?? I only look to the recent changes page... (And BTW, I'm not a "dude")--Pizca 00:36, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Dude is slang, dude. Just like saying "Hey guys" to a group of people even if their is a girl there. I checked and someone today just did the same thing I did for Leyona's debut album One Blood (and it's in Recent Changes") but instead I'm the only one doing it? Riiiight. --Plisskin 00:41, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Ok, I'm not going to talk anymore about this. Just to say that I did what I thought I had to do, point. --Pizca 00:45, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Riiiiigght. Of course your not going to talk about it anymore, because you you have nothing else to go on; just like you telling me that were not suppose to use the debut album tag when it's not their first release, when that rule wasn't even decided on. Whatever. --Plisskin 00:51, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Please play nice, lovelies. =) If you have any issues with a mod, it's best to bring it up with EXodius (or myself, if he doesn't mind). It can be worked out! ~ Wapiko 01:29, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
It doesn't mind, I guess Plisskin thinks I have something against him/her because it's the same story since he or I joined, can't remember. I tried a lot of times to explain that is not the case, but it's useless... --Pizca 01:37, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
I blocked Plisskin btw. Zeli17 01:39, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Was really necessary? I guess I'm too bland to be the kind of mod that blocks people.
BTW, I've seen your talk page. Thanks :) --Pizca 01:46, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
I am confused right now. Do we only put "debut" to the first release of an artist?--FoxxyFuyumi 00:04, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
How about changing all the debut albums/singles and simply having a "Debut Release" category? Apply it to the first thing an artist released (whether it was a single, album, or digital release) as adding to both a single AND album seems to add much confusion (at least that's my understanding of this situation) --EXodius 00:09, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
That's a good idea EXodius! For me it's ok.-FoxxyFuyumi 00:15, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
I also think it's a great idea. If I wouldn't be with Seiko I would start right now --Pizca 00:25, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Even if an artist released a few singles before an album, a lot of times it's still called a "debut album" by the label, media, etc. --Lambchopsuey 00:16, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
But it's not technically correct, at least as far as I know the meaning of the word.--Pizca 00:25, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Personally I like the way it was done before. I didn't think it was confusing. But what if someone wants to view the debut albums on here? Or debut singles separately? They can't anymore if we abolish their tags. --Plisskin 00:22, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
I don't really think people browse those categories just for fun. Why to look to hundreds of titles just because they are some kind of debut? XD --Pizca 00:27, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Saying "debut" for everyone's first release is kinda redundant if you ask me... Zeli17 00:29, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Especially when the artist has like, three "debut" singles. XD But that's neither here nor there. ~ Wapiko 00:31, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
This is making too small, so I bring it here XD. What about keeping the Debut+format for all those first releases (I don't like it, but I can handle it) and add a "Category: Artist Debut" for the very first release of an artist/group?.--Pizca 00:33, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
That would make sense to me. I mean we need to kinda keep it as is just adjust it some. Zeli17 00:38, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
"Debut album" would still be technically correct though, even if it's not a first release. I don't know how to explain it. I wouldn't call Memorial address a "debut-mini album", though. --Lambchopsuey 00:59, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
I agree with Lambchopsuey with that, while it isn't a debut mini-album, I usually classify it as Ayu's first mini-album, not her debut mini...just seems so i don't know dumb to classify things that aren't exactly needing the word "debut" unless it's "THE FIRST THING" they released.Solarblade 01:36, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Why don't you all go to the forums and make a thread or go to the community page, discussing in user talk pages is hard to follow. Personally, I agree with the format we are current using for "debut" things. There are debut indie and debut major to. For me, I count debut indie single/album as debut and when s/he/they goes/go major, count it as first major single/album, then second, third... For a lot of debut, count his/her/their first ever single/album/mini-album as "debut", for example May'n: she debuted as Nakabayashi May at 15 years-old, Crazy Crazy Crazy is her right debut single; years later, when she changed her stage name to May'n and moved to flying DOG, Diamond Crevasse / Iteza☆Gogo Kuji Don't be late is her re-debut single, I don't count it as a debut single; she released her first album May'n☆Street, so it's her right debut album and Styles is her first studio album. Don't know if my example is so confusing :D. --Seph 01:53, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Well, Mei was far from being indie - she was on UNIVERSAL JAPAN from the start...but maybe that wasn't part of your same example. LOL ~ Wapiko 01:57, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
I'm too confused at the moment as to make a thread on the forum. I don't know if people agrees with my first, second, o none ideas XDD. It's been a long night here XD--Pizca 01:58, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

Bury the Hatchet

I'm sorry if I seemed rude earlier, I didn't think I was to be honest, but it obviously came across that way to make you feel like you were being attacked so that's my fault right there. But I did start getting visibly annoyed as the conversation went on because I feel like I get called out for things when everyone else is doing the same thing. But I really want to just bury the hatchet, apologize for any misunderstandings / rudeness, and move on because you and I are primarily the only ones that do the K-pop pages and I'd like to work with you more on that. --Plisskin 18:57, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

You put a smile on my face. Welcome back ^^ I felt really bad after seeing your ban, I never thought it was deserved in any way.
No problems, I can understand how sometimes one feels thinking they are changing they work just because. Now you are a sysop to (Yey! K-Pop power!! xD) so I reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally hope we could fix any problems through talk pages without misunderstandings. :D Welcome back again! --Pizca 19:02, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, I'm kinda new and need to learn a lot of things

I got your message about my mistakes. I'm sorry, I'm kinda new to these kind of things. I really appreciate your guiding, hope I can get better soon. But I have a few things to ask; how can I change pictures in an artist's main page? And if I can't find any info about the CD price, can I just skip it?. GN-0015

Please, don't feel sorry ^^. All the contributions to the wiki are very welcomed :D.
About the pictures, you mean to put a new one? or just to upload new versions? If it's the first I wrote a mini-guide for User:Pogo here. If you want to upload a new version, on the images pages, just after the Image history table, there's the link "Upload a new version of this file". The rest of the process is the same as in the link I told you above.
Yes, If you can't find prices just put the Catalog Code, and below the Tracklist. Good sites for prices are usually the artists official websites or labels but, just in case, here there's always a lot of info (and online stores can also be helpful).
Hope that could help, if you have any more questions please feel free to ask ^_^ --Pizca 21:47, 21 April 2010 (CDT)
I want to replace the picture in Misato Aki's page. You can see in the page that the picture is when she was promoting her single Life and Proud and I want to replace it with a new picture from her new album which is from now on. GN-0015
Go ahead then! As there is enough site on the page as to have more than one picture, leave that Life and Proud promo pic and upload a new one, like here.
And BTW, you can sign your entries on talk pages making click in the button with a little signature on it (second from right) you will see a "--~~~~", that would be your signature ^^.--Pizca 22:44, 21 April 2010 (CDT)
Oh, and remember, price and catalog codes go outside the small tags. If there's only one edition, then just forget about the small tag XD. Take a look to the changed I made on the Beatrip page, for correct song linking.--Pizca 22:50, 21 April 2010 (CDT)
