GARNET CROW promoting THE ONE ~ALL SINGLES BEST~ (2013)

GARNET CROW

GARNET CROW was a Japanese pop band under the GIZA studio label. The band formed in 1999 after collaborating on the creation of a demo tape for singer Kuraki Mai's American independent record label. At that time, three of the members were already involved with another record company (AZUKI Nana, Furui Hirohito and Okamoto Hitoshi) leaving Nakamura Yuri on her own. After the three other members decided to leave the label they joined Nakamura to from their own band called GARNET CROW.

The group released their debut mini-album first kaleidscope ~Kimi no Uchi ni Tsuku Made Zutto Hashitte Yuku~. The group did not have huge success until their 10th single "Yume Mita Ato de" which was used as the 14th ending theme for the anime Meitantei Conan. The single sold 93,300 copies. Their lack of success in their early days was possibly due to them never once appearing on television, however, since 2002 the band has performed on TV music programs. The members themselves have left remarks suggesting that television performances make them extremely tense.

It was announced on their official website on the 30th of March 2013, that the band will be officially disbanding after their final live on the 24th of May 2013. It is currently unknown why they are disbanding.

Since GARNET CROWS debut, they have released thirty-four singles, 10 albums, 10 Video Releases, 4 best albums, and 3 other albums. The groups last best album (last release overall) THE ONE ~ALL SINGLES BEST~ was released May 22nd, 2013.
