Ashita is aiko's debut major label single. Ashita was used as the theme song for the movie Toilet no Hanako-san. The single reached the #89 position on the Oricon charts and managed to stay on the charts for a total of five weeks. This is aiko's only single to come in an 8cm CD format. This is aiko's worst selling, charting single.
On March 21st 2007, the single was re-released. This time around the single was put on a 12cm CD format. The first press edition of the single came with a colour tray. This single reached #16 on the Oricon charts and charted for six weeks.
