"Doukoku" is the eighteenth single released by Kudo Shizuka. The title track was used as the theme song for the Fuji TV dorama Ano Hi ni Kaeritai. The song was also performed at Kudo's sixth appearance at the annual Kouhaku Uta Gassen at the end of 1993. Nakajima Miyuki would later self cover the song on the album Jidai -Time goes around-.
The single reached #1 on the weekly Oricon charts and charted for fifteen weeks, selling 939,240 units. The single also #19 on the yearly Oricon chart for 1993. To date, this single is the best selling single for Kudo.
