Haruhata Michiya (春畑道哉) is a guitarist, composer, and member of the band TUBE.

Information

Haruhata started to have interest in music when he was a young child. While in elementary school, he would take a fond interest in playing the piano. His parents took notice and sent him to Yamaha Music Education Center. But when he was told that girls only play piano while boys play baseball, he would take a pause in his music education. He learned to play the piano while in middle school when he was asked to play in a band called Rainbow. But he took notice of the guitar and begin to take lessons after buying an electric guitar in high school.

In 1984, he participated in the Silk Road Music Festival, where he the award for Best Guitarist. He later joined the band Pandora after being spotted by the leader vocals, Maeda Nobuteru. The band debuted in 1985 under the new name The TUBE.

He released his first album, DRIVIN', two years later on February 1987. And then in 1992, he started to compose music for TUBE and other artists, starting with TWINZER's "LEAVE ME ALONE". He later took a pause from his solo career starting in 1996 to start producing music. But, he would take a short break as he released his ninth album, RED BIRD, in 2000. That same year, he commissioned his first guitar Michiya Haruhata Stratocaster through Fender USA. He would also commission the Michiya Haruhata BWL Stratocaster in 2005.
