WINNER
WINNER is a Korean pop 5-member boy group that debuted in 2013 under YG Entertainment. WINNER was formed through a reality survival battle television program called YG WIN: WHO IS NEXT, which divided 11 YG trainees into Team A and Team B. WINNER belonged in Team A, winning over Team B solely by viewer voting in three out of three battles, thus winning the title of WINNER and the chance to debut. The group is also YG's first debuted male idol group in seven years since BIGBANG.
WINNER released their first album to great success, taking the top position on ten music charts across South Korea. The album landed number one on Billboard's World Album Chart and also the iTunes Album Chart in five different countries. Two songs in particular, Empty and Color Ring topped many real-time charts in Korea and garnered the group several accolades on various music programs.
The Japanese version of the group's debut album 2014 S/S: Japan Collection will be released this week on September 10, 2014.
