Taeyeon

Taeyeon (태연) is a South Korean singer under SM Entertainment. She has been a member of SM Entertainment's girl group Girls' Generation since 2007, along with other SM projects including Girls' Generation-TTS, S.M. THE BALLAD, and Girls' Generation-Oh!GG.

She released her debut mini-album I in 2015, which includes the Gaon Digital Chart number-one titular single. Her second mini-album Why peaked atop the Gaon Album Chart and spawned two Gaon Digital Chart top-ten singles, "Starlight" and "Why". Her debut studio album, My Voice, yielded the top-five singles "11:11", "Fine" and "Make Me Love You". Her second studio album, Purpose, was released in October 2019 and featured the top-two singles "Sagye (Four Seasons)" and "Bulti (Spark)".

On television, Taeyeon appeared as a main cast on the reality shows We Got Married in 2009, Begin Again in 2019, and is currently serving as a main host for Nollaun Toyoil (since 2020). Additionally, she has recorded soundtracks for various television dramas and movies that proved successful, notably "Manyage" for Hong Gil-dong and "Can You Hear Me...?" for Beethoven Virus in 2008, and the chart-topping "Geudaeraneun Si" for Hotel del Luna in 2019.

Having sold over one million physical albums and twenty million digital singles as of 2021, Taeyeon is one of the best-selling solo artists in South Korea. She has received various awards and nominations, including six Golden Disc Awards, five Seoul Music Awards, four Gaon Chart Music Awards, three Melon Music Awards, and three Mnet Asian Music Awards.

Her third Korean album, INVU, is released this week on February 14th.
