Gomattou (ごまっとう) was a one-shot Hello! Project group whose sole release was in November 2002. The group was formed in October of 2002 as a dance-based group with an R&B style. Members were Hello! Project soloists Matsuura Aya and Fujimoto Miki led by Morning Musume's (since graduated) Goto Maki.
The Name
The name "Gomattou" (ごまっとう) is made from parts of the names of each of its members:
- ご (GO) - 後藤 (GOTOU)
- まっ (MAT) - 松浦 (MATSUURA)
- とう (TOU) - 藤本 (FUJIMOTO)*
- The kanji 藤 is pronounced FUJI in Fujimoto's name, but it can also be pronounced as TOU.
