Special is thes first mini-album released by hitomi. "Special" and "Guru ☆ Maze Yeah!!" were used as opening and ending theme songs to the anime Hanakappa. "Song for you☆" was used as the commercial theme song to "Purple Dial", "Story" was used as the commercial theme song to Android App "ePHONE Bako", "Non-Position" was used as the commercial theme song to "Tsuke Matsuge" and "Venus" was used as the theme song to the TV program Venus no Himitsu. The album comes with a bonus DVD featuring a music video of "Song for you☆" and an exercise video with the song "Guru ☆ Maze Yeah!!". The mini-album reached #151 on the Oricon weekly charts and charted for one week.
