"In the future" is the sixth single released by hitomi. The title track was used as CM theme song for Meiji American Chips. "Shinin' On" was used as CM theme song for Asahi Corporation's Dry Shoes. The single reached #7 on the weekly Oricon charts and charted for ten weeks, selling around 357,000 copies. It also reached #88 on the yearly Oricon charts for 1996.
