"Doukoku" is the eighteenth single released by Kudo Shizuka. It reached #1 on the Oricon charts and also #19 on the yearly Oricon charts for 1993. The single charted for fifteen weeks and sold 939,000 units. To date, this single is the best selling single for Kudo. The title track was used as the theme song for the Fuji TV dorama "Ano Hi ni Kaeritai". The song was also performed at Kudo's sixth appearance at the annual Kouhaku Utagassen at the end of 1993.
