"Song for the DATE" is the fifteenth single (twelfth major label single) released by Mano Erina. The single was released in three editions: limited A, limited B, and regular. Limited A came with a DVD. Both limited editions and the first press of the regular edition of the single came with an application to a handshake event.
The music video for the single was directed by Iizuka Ken, who has directed movies like Arakawa Under the Bridge and Summer Nude.
