Sun Yan Zi is one of the few Singaporean artists to achieve superstardom in the Chinese music market. She is so well regarded in Singapore that she is a role model for other Singaporean artists wishing to crack into the Chinese music market. She is the only major award-winning Chinese artist from Singapore.
 
 
Born in 1978, Stefanie attended St Margaret's Secondary School and Raffles Girls' School, and later on majored in marketing at Nanyang Technological University, all in Singapore. Stefanie Sun (孫燕姿, Sun Yan Zi) is a Singaporean Mandopop singer-songwriter. Debuting in 2000 under Warner Music Taiwan, she became an overnight sensation as her self-titled debut album became a best-seller in Asia. Her follow-up releases cemented her stardom and she was named the best selling female Mandopop artists of the first half of the decade.
