STEP INTO MY HEART is the first studio album released by Nakazawa Mayu. The album came after the release of four singles, the last of which was only released two weeks prior to the album's release. All of the songs on the album were written and composed by Nakazawa, except for "FUNKY FLUSHIN'". The album was produced by Kadokura Satoshi. In total, the album only contains three new songs and two new instrumentals.

The album did not chart on the Oricon weekly charts. After the release of this album Nakazawa was dropped from her record label Universal Music Japan. She ended up going on a four year hiatus, and returning in 2006 under the indie label GRAND FUNK records.
