"jellyfish" is the sixth single released by Nakazawa Mayu, and it is Nakazawa's second indie single. The single was released after a four year hiatus which started after Nakazawa was dropped from major label Universal Music Japan after the release of her debut studio album, STEP INTO MY HEART in 2002. In 2006, Nakazawa signed with the indie label BRAINCASE and started recording new material. Unlike her previous releases, this is her first single to incorporate her new found electro-pop style. After the release of the single, Nakazawa went on hiatus for a year and came back in 2007 and made her "debut" under the name immi.
In 2009, the single was released worldwide on the iTunes music store, along with Nakazawa's other releases as immi.
The single did not chart on the Oricon weekly charts.
