"Amai Zeitaku" is the ninth single released by MEG. This is the first release to be produced by Nakata Yasutaka, and is also her last indies release through SHAMPOO NINE RECORDS. The B-side "Koi no Bakudan" is a cover of the 1974 single by Anzai Maria. Like previous singles "ROCKSTAR" and "DAWN", "Amai Zeitaku" has a limited number of copies. The single reached #183 on the Oricon weekly charts, where it charted for a week. This is her lowest charting and selling single.
