"Itoshisa to Setsunasa to Kokoro Tsuyosa to" is the first collaboration single between Shinohara Ryoko and Komuro Tetsuya. The title track was used as the theme song for the anime movie Street Fighter II MOVIE. "Itoshisa to Setsunasa to Kokoro Tsuyosa to" would later be covered by such artists like MAX, Purple Days, AAA, and m.o.v.e. The song won the Merit Award at the 36th Nihon Record Taishou and was performed at the 45th Kouhaku Uta Gassen.
The single reached #1 on the weekly Oricon charts and charted for 39 weeks, selling 2,020,590 copies and became Shinohara's first single to sell over a million copies. Because the single sold 1,623,010 copies in 1994 and 397,580 in 1995, it reached #3 and #87 on the yearly Oricon charts for 1994 and 1995 respectively. According to Oricon, the single ranks #1 in sales for singles that relate to anime and movie tie-ups.[1]
