Information

LUNA SEA is the debut album recorded by LUNA SEA. The album was released under YOSHIKI's EXTASY RECORDS after being discovered by hide at a sold concert earlier on Feburary 11th 1991[1]. Several of the songs on the record are re-workings of previous material. The song "TIME IS DEAD" is a re-write of "SEXUAL PERVERSION" from their LUNACY demo. The album's closing track "PRECIOUS..." was original released on the "Nuclear Fusion Tour" demo while on tour with Gilles de Rais and Sighs of Love Potion. The album's photos were taken at Inokashira Park.

The album was re-released in 2007 featuring a bonus DVD with the music videos for "MOON" and "PRECIOUS...". In 2011, the album was re-recorded. This time the release has three editions: CD+DVD (includes a DVD with bonus video footage); CD-Only and a box set. The box set includes the CD, as well as a reprint of their second demo tape SHADE and some promotional goods from their indie days.

Oricon Chart Positions

The original release of the album did not rank on the weekly Oricon chart. The 2007 re-issue was able to reach #123 on the weekly Oricon chart, and only ranking for one week.
