Biography

Kurei Soushi (2006)

At the age of 20 Soshi, going by his real name Tanaka Soushi, entered the 18th "JUNON SUPERBOY CONTEST" on November 7th, 2005. The contest has been held every year since 1988, and is always sponsored by JUNON fashion magazine. The judges for the 18th contest were: actress Darvish Saeko, comedians Morisanchuu, TV producer Ochi Masato, and music producer Tsunku. Soshi was in the Rock Boy category, which was only in its second year. He won the grand prix prize singing GLAY's 1999 single "Winter, again".

The judge's special prize awards were given to future label-mate TAKERU, who had also went by his real name Mukaitsubo Takeru, and Kobayashi Gou. Six to seven months later Soshi signed with both Tsunku's production company TNX and indies label Good Factory Record with his first stage name of Kurei Soushi. He had his first live on June 4th, 2006 in Akihabara. His debut, the single "Wish ~Kimi wo Matenakute~", was released two months later on August 12th.

On August 3rd, 2006 Soshi was feautured in the Game Boy Advance rhythm game Rhythm Tengoku, where his debut song was contributed. The game was the last Game Boy Advance game to be developed by Nintendo. It was also never released internationally, while its sequel was. The soundtrack compilation for both Rhythm Tengoku Gold (the sequel) and Rhythm Tengoku was released later as Rhythm Tengoku Zenkyoku Shuu on October 15th, 2008.

Kurei Soushi (2007)

A couple months after the release of his second single "My brand-new" on January 27th, 2007, Soshi left both TNX and Good Factory Record. In the time between this and the summer of 2007 he met Leo, former Megamasso live support guitarist. The two of them then crafted the visual-kei duo Watashimeslug, with Soshi taking his current stage name Soshi. Ryohei of Megamasso would be their producer. The duo had their first live on August 20th, 2007 at ESAKA MUSE as a part of Like an Edison Presents Live. Their first release, the mini-album Juuryoku, would be released two days later on August 22nd.

After a span of a year and a few months, with the nation-wide release of their Juuryoku mini-album and two singles ("Lyric" and "Fill Me With Flowers"), Watashimeslug would be put into an activity pause in November of 2008. The reason for the pause was for both of the members to broden their musical and visual horizons. In January of 2009 it was announced that Leo had joined the visual-kei rock band NaiL as one of their guitarists.

In June of 2010 it was announced that Soshi would be the new vocalist for the visual and oshare-kei rock band Lolita 23q.
