YUKI promoting "Baby, it's you / My lovely ghost" (2021)

YUKI

YUKI is a Japanese pop singer-songwriter under Sony Music Entertainment's EPIC Records sub-label. YUKI rose to fame in the 1990's as the vocalist of the Japanese rock band JUDY AND MARY, which she founded in 1991. She has also been a member of the band NiNa in 1999 alongside Kate Pierson of The B-52's, and as a drummer of the short lived girl-band Mean Machine in 2001 alongside Chara.

YUKI made her solo debut in 2002 with the single, "the end of shite", which placed at #6 on the Oricon weekly singles chart. All of her original albums to-date have broken into the top 10 on the Oricon charts except for one, with five of them peaking at the #1 spot.

In 2011, she became the first woman to perform at the famous Tokyo Dome as both a band and a solo artist, with an audience of 50,000 people. YUKI now celebrates 30 years as a musician, 20 as a solo artist.

Her 34th single, "Baby, it's you / My lovely ghost", is released this week on March 24th.
