UMU (2005)

UMU is a Japanese artist, currently member of the band FREAKYFROG.

  • Birthdate: June 11, 1975 (1975-06-11) (age 48)
  • Birthplace: Kuwana, Mie Prefecture, Japan


Umuyashiki debuted as umu as the former bassist of the rock band BEAT CRUSADERS, and the guitarist of the punk side-project band ANITA CHILI PEPPERS, where he was known as Umu Member. After leaving BEAT CRUSADERS in 2003, during 2004, he joined Komiyama Yuuhi's bands BANK$, as bassist, and Hoff Dylan, on chorus, and later that same year the band houseplan!.

In September 2005 he released his solo debut mini-album PANORAMA360 under GHOST WRITER SONGS label. In 2006, he become the main vocalist and guitarist of the new band FREAKYFROG, which is since July 2011 on hiatus.

He currently also works as illustrator.
