"Everyday, Katyusha" is the 21st major single (23rd overall) released by AKB48. It was released in five versions: a limited type-A CD+DVD edition, a regular type-A CD+DVD edition, a limited type-B CD+DVD edition, a regular type-B CD+DVD edition, and a limited CD-only theater edition. The limited type-A and type-B editions came with one of two national handshake event tickets, while all four limited and regular A/B editions came with a serial number to vote for a member to participate in AKB48's 22nd single. As well, the theater edition came with an "Everyday, Katyusha" release event handshake ticket and an election campaign picture of one member at random. The title track was used as the theme song for the film Moshi Koukou Yakyuu no Joshi Manager ga Drucker no "Management" wo Yondara, starring members Maeda Atsuko and Minegishi Minami.

The single sold 942,475 copies on its first day of release. By the end of the week, it had sold a total of 1,333,969 copies, surpassing Mr.Children's 1996 record of highest first-week sales with "Namonaki Uta" (1,208,230).
