During the AKB48 Group Grand Shuffle in 2014, her concurrency with AKB48 was cancelled and she became a full-time member of SKE48 and sub-leader of Team KII with Furukawa Airi as leader. After Furukawa's graduation in March 2015, Oba became leader with Uchiyama Mikoto as sub-leader.
