Metis is a female Japanese reggae singer-songwriter, currently signed to the label Universal Music Japan. She is known for her soulful voice and her single "Ume wa Saitaka Sakura wa Madakaina" released in 2007 under Nippon Crown records. Her stage name, "Metis", is a word of French origin meaning "mixed". It is also the name of a first nation in Canada.
