PHALARIS is the eleventh album released by DIR EN GREY. The album was released in four versions: a deluxe limited 2CD+Blu-ray edition, a deluxe limited 2CD+DVD edition, a limited 2CD edition, and a regular CD edition. The album's title is reference to Phalaris, a tyrant of Akragas in Sicily from approximately 570 to 554 BC. Notorious for his cruelty, he is alleged to have roasted his victims alive in a bronze bull, which is alluded to in the album's covers.
