"Chime" is the 26th single released by Otsuka Ai. It was released in four versions: a CD+Blu-ray edition, a CD+2DVD edition, a CD only edition, and a limited mu-mo special box set which contains an elegant box design, photo cards and live recordings from various dates of the nationwide "Ai am BEST, too Tour 2019". The title track was used as an opening theme for the anime Fruits Basket. The song "kit palette" was originally used as a Kit Kat Everyday Nuts & Cranberry CM song in March of the same year. The song "XOX" is an English self-cover of the song "Dame Dame da" which she originally wrote and composed for Tomita Shiori in 2014, which also Otsuka recorded her own rendition for the iTunes release. "Chime" sold 1,903 copies during the first week and reached #35 on the charts.

The song was released digitally ahead of the single on July 5, 2019.
