"Hakanaku mo Towa no Kanashi" is the 12th single released by UVERworld. The title track was used as the first opening theme for the anime Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Second Season. The single was released in three editions: a limited CD+DVD edition, a regular CD-only edition and an anime edition that includes a bonus track. The single reached #1 on the Oricon weekly charts and sold 158,105 copies in 2008, making it the #40 single of the year. In total, it sold 182,226 copies and is UVERworld's best selling single to date.
