Information

"Kabukichou no Joou" is Shiina Ringo's second single. "Kabuki-cho" refers to Tokyo's infamous red-light district. Track two is a cover of the Cyndi Lauper song of the same name. Track three was recorded live in Shinjuku, and is a recording of Shiina busking, playing a medley of Marunouchi Sadistic and Kabukichou no Joou. This single reached #50 on Oricon charts and charted for 15 weeks. Kabukichou no Joou sold 50,540 units in Japan.

Despite the title, neither the cover shoot nor the music video were shot in Kabuki-cho. The single cover was shot in Shibuya's Golden-gai, and the music video was shot at Houmyou-ji in the ward of Toshima-ku, in Tokyo. The song was covered by Kai Yoshihiro on his third cover album, 10 Stories.
