"SMILY/Biidama" is Otsuka Ai's eighth single. "SMILY" was used as CM song for Lion's "Ban Powder Spray" and "Biidama" was used for the Shokubutsu Monogatari "Herb Blend" shampoo CM, also by Lion. Otsuka appears in both commercials. The single debuted at #1 on the daily Oricon chart. By the end of it's first week, this single sold 110,512 copies which placed it at #1 on the Oricon weekly chart. This sold 308,338 copies in 2005, placing it as the #26 single of that year. The most recent figures show that this single has sold 310,323 units in total.
